A person who has little or no social graces or manners. Being a butu is completely independent of your social class. Professor Rex Nettleford once correctly said, "A butu in a Benz is still a butu."

Mildly offensive term for a lower class person. This person is normally raised in a rural area and is generally uneducated to the point of not being familiar with the modern world.

This term is also used to refer to someone that lacks culture and social grace, especially. one that exhibits rural mannerisms, habits and preferences.
