Accompong is a Maroon settlement in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, named after its founder, Accompong, brother of the great Maroon leader Kojo. It is the only Maroon village left on the western side of the island. It was founded in 1739, and traditional ceremonies are held here every 6 January to celebrate the signing of the treaty and the founding of the town.
